Cape Cod's Musical Instrument Demonstration ProgramBringing the Love of Music to Your Schools!Music in the Schools, ongoing since l997, is an outreach program of our ensemble, Allegretto. We are a group of musicians who bring our instruments -- piano, mandolin, violin, flute, cello, guitars, bagpipes, trumpet, etc. -- into the schools on Cape Cod, to show how the instruments sound alone and together. Lively discussions about each instrument inspire and involve the students, while bringing into play the sciences and mathematics. The students love our presentations, and sense the performers' love of their instruments. Often, the children respond to the musical instrument demo by drawing pictures and writing a note about the one they liked best.
